What is included

We work with business goals rather than technologies. The technology is chosen once it is clear what needs to change.

Discuss the scope

Assessment

The current state of IT: systems, processes, spending, bottlenecks and risks.

Interviews with the business

What stops departments from working. The answers usually differ from what the IT department believes.

Spending review

Where the IT money goes today and which of it produces results.

Prioritisation

Initiatives plotted by impact and complexity, with a justification for the order.

Roadmap

A one to three year plan with stages, a budget and decision points.

Presentation

A document and a presentation in a form suitable for discussion with management and owners.

How the work runs

Four to six weeks depending on the size of the company and the number of departments.

01

Immersion

We study the business, not just IT: how the company earns and what limits its growth.

02

Assessment

A technical audit plus interviews with department heads.

03

Analysis

We match business problems against the state of IT and estimate the effect of changes.

04

Strategy

A roadmap with a budget, presented to management and adjusted afterwards.

The most common finding is money spent on things nobody uses. Paid licences with no users, a system that was deployed and abandoned, services that duplicate each other. Sorting this out often funds the first stage of change without any extra budget.

Frequently asked questions

An audit answers the question of what condition the infrastructure is in; consulting answers what the business should do. An audit can be one stage within consulting, but on its own it gives neither priorities nor a budget.

Department heads are essential, as is whoever decides the budget. A strategy written after talking only to the IT department comes out technically sound and disconnected from what the company needs.

We say what we see, including cases where the problem lies not in technology but in processes or people. Such a conclusion is unwelcome, but it saves the budget that would otherwise go on a system that does not solve the problem.

We will build your IT strategy

Tell us what concerns you: costs, speed, risks. We will run an assessment and propose a prioritised plan.
