Recognition
Scans and photographs, including skewed ones and those of less than ideal quality.
It pays off on volume. For a dozen documents a month, manual entry is cheaper than any automation.

Identifying the document type: invoice, delivery note, certificate, contract.
Number, date, amounts, counterparty and line items. Configured for your forms.
Matching against the accounting system: does the counterparty exist, does the order amount agree.
A confirmation screen showing the document and the extracted data side by side.
Creating documents in the system once confirmed.
A pilot on one document type takes four to six weeks, including tuning on your own forms.
How many documents, of which types, and how much time entry takes today.
Real documents in all their variety, including poor scans.
Training on your forms and measuring accuracy on a control sample.
Connecting to the live flow, training the operators and monitoring for the first month.
There is no such thing as one hundred percent accuracy, and you cannot plan for it. A realistic target is 85 to 95 percent of fields extracted correctly, with a person correcting the rest. The saving is still substantial, but the review step must stay rather than being dropped because the system is clever.
Roughly from a hundred a month of one type. Below that, setup and support cost more than manual entry. The calculation should be based on operator time, not on the number of sheets.
With skew and low resolution, usually yes. With creased photographs in bad light, less well. The quality of incoming documents directly affects accuracy, so sometimes it is easier to agree electronic documents with your suppliers.
Much simpler, and that is the first thing we suggest. Recognition is a solution for the flow from counterparties who will not move to electronic exchange. For everyone else it is better to set up the exchange than to automate parsing paper.
Tell us which documents you handle and how many a month. We will assess whether recognition pays off or moving to electronic exchange is simpler.
