What this area includes

Two systems that are almost always designed together: they share the cabling, the server room and the same list of employees.

Discuss the site

Video surveillance

Cameras selected for the task and the lighting, coverage calculations, a recorder and disk array sized for the required archive depth, and remote viewing from phone and computer. We also configure scenarios: motion detection outside working hours, alerts and export of clips on request.

Access control and management

Turnstiles, electronic locks, cards and mobile passes, intercoms. We configure schedules and zones: who can go where and when. On termination access is revoked with one action rather than by hunting for a card on someone desk.

What determines the price

The price of the system comes not from the number of cameras but from what exactly you need to see in the footage.

A general view of the room

A 2 MP camera with a wide angle. The lowest cost per point, but faces will not be identifiable.

Recognise a face at the entrance

A 4 MP camera with a narrow angle and illumination. The same floor area will need noticeably more cameras.

Read a vehicle number plate

A dedicated camera with a zoom lens. Each entry point needs its own camera; a general view does not work here.

A 30-day archive instead of 7

Larger disks. It affects the cost of the recorder and the disk array.

Operation during a power cut

A UPS for the cameras and the recorder. It will need space in the cabinet and a separate power line.

Video surveillance falls under personal data requirements. You need notices in the recorded area, a defined retention period and rules for access to the archive. We prepare the document set together with the system so the footage carries legal weight.

How the project runs

From the site visit to handover usually takes two to six weeks, depending on the size of the site and equipment lead times.

01

Site visit and objectives

We inspect the site and clarify exactly what needs recording: the entrance, the till, the warehouse, the car park or the perimeter.

02

Diagram and specification

We mark the camera positions and coverage on the floor plan and select equipment in two price options.

03

Installation and configuration

Cable running, installation of cameras and controllers, and configuration of recording scenarios and access rules.

04

Training and maintenance

We show the responsible staff how to find an event in the archive and issue passes. After that we take the system into maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

It is counted by objectives, not by floor area. For a 300 square metre office the entrance, the corridor and the area with valuable equipment are usually enough, which is three or four cameras. If you need to monitor workstations the count runs into dozens, and there the legal side should be discussed first.

Usually yes, if the cameras support standard protocols. During the audit we check what can stay and what no longer delivers the required quality. Mixing old and new equipment in one system is normal practice.

We put a UPS on the recorder, the switch and the cameras. An hour or two of autonomy covers most outages. For sites with higher requirements we plan for generator power.

Minutes: the card is issued in the system and immediately linked to the right zones and schedule. On termination the access is revoked just as fast, even if the card was never returned.

We will design a system for your site

Describe the site and what needs to be monitored. We will come for a survey, mark the camera positions on the plan and give a quote in two budget options.
