What is included

We maintain both Windows and Linux servers. The approach is the same: observation, a defined routine and documentation.

Discuss the scope

Roles and services

User directory, file shares, printing, web servers and application servers.

Monitoring

Processor, memory, disk space, array health and service availability.

Updates

Patches installed in agreed windows with the option to roll back.

Backups

Configuration, checking that they run, and testing restores rather than only the jobs.

Incident analysis

Root cause analysis of failures and measures to stop them recurring.

Documentation

The diagram, what each server does and credentials in a protected vault.

How the work runs

Taking a server into support takes a few days. After that the work follows the routine.

01

Assessment

What the servers are, which roles they run, the state of updates, disks and backups.

02

Tidying up

We close the critical items: disk space, overdue updates and missing backups.

03

Monitoring

We connect observation with alerts to the duty engineer rather than to a mailbox nobody reads.

04

Routine

Scheduled work, update windows and a monthly status report.

Free space on the system disk is the most common cause of a server stopping without warning. Logs, updates and temporary files grow unnoticed until one day a service cannot write its data. Monitoring disk space closes that scenario completely and costs nothing.

Frequently asked questions

Critical security patches within a week of release, the rest monthly in an agreed window. Servers that have not been updated for years are updated in stages with a mandatory snapshot taken first.

Yes, and it is essentially free: basic observation of disk space, availability and drive health is configured with built-in tools. The difference between hearing it from the system and hearing it from the accountant is hours of downtime.

Isolate them and plan the replacement. A system that no longer receives security updates is a constantly growing risk. If it cannot be replaced immediately, we restrict network access to it and tighten monitoring.

We will take your servers into support

Tell us how many servers you have and what runs on them. We will run an assessment and show what needs attention first.
