What is included

An audit is measurement, not inspection. Hypotheses are checked with instruments and device statistics.

Discuss the scope

Network diagram

The real topology: what is actually connected where, not what documents from five years ago say.

Load measurement

Utilisation of links and ports, peak values and interface errors.

Wi-Fi survey

Coverage measurement, signal levels, overlapping channels and interference from neighbours.

Segmentation

Whether the network is divided or everything sits in one space where an infection spreads instantly.

Points of failure

Nodes whose failure stops the whole company or part of it.

Report

Findings with priorities and an estimate of the cost of fixing them.

How the work runs

An audit of one site takes three to five days including measurements during peak hours.

01

Data collection

Device configurations, port statistics and interviews with administrators and users.

02

Measurement

Load during working hours and a walkthrough of the premises measuring Wi-Fi.

03

Analysis

We match user complaints against the measurements. The cause is often not where people are looking.

04

Report

The diagram, the findings and a prioritised action plan.

Complaints that the internet is slow usually turn out not to be about the internet. The measurements show a duplex mismatch on a port, Wi-Fi on overlapping channels, or a server limited by its disk. Changing provider does not help in such cases, and the money is wasted.

Frequently asked questions

No. Collecting configurations and statistics has no effect on operations, and neither does a Wi-Fi walkthrough. Active scanning, if it is needed, is agreed separately and carried out outside working hours.

That happens too, and it is a useful result: it means the cause is not the network and you should look at servers or applications. At the very least you stop spending money on replacing network hardware.

Once when there are problems, and every two to three years as routine, plus after significant changes: a move, growth in headcount or adding a site. A network diagram goes out of date faster than people expect.

We will audit your network

Tell us what concerns you and how many sites you have. We will measure it and show where the real cause lies.
