What is included

The order is always the same: stop the damage, then restore, then remove the cause.

Discuss the scope

Diagnosis

What exactly happened: a breach, a failure, a botched update, an unpaid hosting bill.

Isolation

We close the site to visitors if it is serving malicious code or redirecting to other resources.

Cleaning

Finding and removing malicious insertions in the files and the database, checking for backdoors left for re entry.

Restoration

From backups, and where none exist from search engine caches and web archives, as far as possible.

Lifting penalties

A request for re verification in the webmaster tools once the threat is removed.

Closing the cause

Updates, changing every password, restricting access to the administration area, configuring backups.

How the work runs

A typical breach is dealt with in one to three days. Recovery without backups takes longer and cannot be guaranteed to be complete.

01

Assessment

We look at the site and the hosting and determine the scale and whether backups exist. This takes hours.

02

Stopping the damage

We isolate the site, change the credentials and remove the malicious behaviour.

03

Restoration

We bring the site and its content back.

04

Prevention

Updates, backups, monitoring, so the story does not repeat itself.

Malicious code most often comes back a week after the cleaning. The reason is a backdoor left in place or an unchanged hosting panel password. Cleaning without changing every credential and updating the platform is therefore pointless: you pay twice.

Frequently asked questions

We look at what the hosting kept: many providers hold system backups for several days that the owner does not know about. After that come search engine caches and web archives. Recovery is usually partial, typically the structure and the text but not everything.

Once the threat is removed and a re verification request is sent, the flag is usually lifted within a few days. It drags on if malicious code is found again during the check, which is why the cleaning has to be thorough rather than superficial.

The signs: some visitors get redirected to other sites, new pages appear that you did not create, traffic to non existent addresses spikes, the hosting provider writes about spam being sent, the browser shows a warning. Sometimes the only sign is a drop in positions.

We will recover the site
