Technical audit
Duplicates, broken links, speed, indexing, correctness of titles and descriptions.
We start with an audit: more often than not it is a site own technical errors rather than competitors that hold it back.
Duplicates, broken links, speed, indexing, correctness of titles and descriptions.
Canonical addresses, merging the www and non www versions, handling parameters in addresses.
A separate page for each meaningful query instead of one general page.
Organisation, breadcrumbs, questions and answers, products. It produces a richer look in the results.
Images, fonts, caching, compression. It affects both positions and conversion.
Connection, verification of ownership, review of indexing errors, regional settings.
The audit takes a week, fixing the critical items two to three. After that the work becomes regular.
A full technical review with a prioritised list of problems.
We close duplicates, broken links and titles. That alone often produces a result within a month.
We build out the missing pages for existing demand and put the internal linking in order.
We track indexing and positions and work through errors in the webmaster tools.
The most common finding is duplicate pages. The same text is available with and without a trailing slash, with and without www, with sorting and filter parameters. The search engine sees several copies and cannot tell which one to show. This is fixed with canonical addresses and redirects, without a single line of new text.
No, and nobody can. What can be guaranteed is the removal of technical errors, a correct structure and markup, and speed. That is what we control. Positions also depend on competition, the age of the site and user behaviour.
Technical fixes take effect within one to two months, which is roughly how long recrawling and reindexing take. Structural changes and growing the content work over a horizon of six months.
Text is needed, since a page without content does not rank. With links, be careful: buying them on exchanges is useless at best and harmful at worst. We concentrate on the technical side and the structure, because there the result is predictable.
Send us the site address. We will show what is holding back indexing and ranking, in order of importance.
