Seller account
Uploading products, stock, orders, reports on sales and payouts.
The project splits into three domains: the buyer, the seller and the platform operator. The last one is usually underestimated.
Uploading products, stock, orders, reports on sales and payouts.
Checking product cards and sellers before publication. Without it a platform fills up with rubbish fast.
The buyer money is divided between the platform and the seller. This requires a dedicated payment service.
A flexible system: a percentage by category, fixed fees, promotion.
With protection against manipulation, otherwise the mechanism loses its meaning within a month.
Rules and tools for the operator: freezing payouts, arbitration.
The first working version takes four months upwards. The project develops over years and is launched in stages.
Who pays, for what and when. Without an answer to that, designing the technology is pointless.
Three domains, roles, order states, the settlement scheme.
A minimum working platform: storefront, seller account, payment, payouts.
Promotion inside the platform, analytics, automated moderation.
Split payments are a legal question before they are a technical one. A platform cannot simply take money and pass it on to sellers: it needs a dedicated payment service that supports this arrangement and properly formalised relations with the sellers. That is settled before development.
Boxed solutions exist and they are suitable for testing a hypothesis. The limits appear in settlements and in non standard commission logic, which is exactly where the platform business model lives. It makes sense to build the first version on something ready made and then reassess.
Not the development but attracting sellers and buyers at the same time. An empty platform is of no use to either. Technically this is solved by launching in one narrow niche rather than across all categories at once.
Substantially more than a shop: you need moderation, seller support, dispute handling and continuous development. This is a separate operational function that should be built into the model from the very beginning.
Tell us about the niche and the revenue model. We will estimate the scope of the first version and propose launch stages.
