What is included

The work starts with the load profile: what exactly will run and what the bottleneck is.

Discuss the scope

Load analysis

Which applications, how much data, what is slow today. We measure rather than assume.

Configuration calculation

Components matched to the task with a justification for every item.

Budget options

Usually three: a minimum workable one, an optimal one and one with headroom for growth.

Assembly

Careful build with compatibility and temperature checks.

Testing

A run under load before handover, to weed out faulty parts straight away.

Warranty

On the components from the manufacturer, on the assembly from us.

How the work runs

The calculation takes a day or two, the assembly a few more days once the components arrive.

01

Measurements

We look at the current load: what is limited by the processor, the memory or the disk.

02

Calculation

Configurations with an explanation of why each component was chosen.

03

Approval

You pick an option and we adjust it to the budget if needed.

04

Assembly and handover

We build, test, install the system and hand it over.

Before calculating a new configuration it is worth measuring the old one. It often turns out that the bottleneck is not the processor but a mechanical drive or a shortage of memory, and instead of buying a new computer an upgrade at a fraction of the price is enough. We always start with a measurement.

Frequently asked questions

A ready made model is simpler: one warranty, predictable servicing, a uniform fleet. A custom build is justified by specific requirements such as an unusual graphics card, many drives or particular operating conditions. For a typical office a ready made model is better.

By measuring during real work: processor load, memory use, disk queue. Half an hour of observation gives a precise answer, whereas conversations about everything being slow do not.

The components carry the manufacturer warranty, usually from one to five years depending on the type. On the assembly itself we give our own warranty: if the problem lies in the build or in compatibility, we resolve it at our own expense.

We will calculate a configuration

Tell us what has to run and what the budget is. First we measure the current load, and sometimes a purchase turns out not to be needed.
