What is included

We look at more than the hardware: how access is granted, what happens when someone leaves, who is responsible for the backups.

Discuss the scope

Inventory

Hardware, servers and network devices with models, age and warranty status.

Licences

What is paid for and what is actually used. There is usually something paid for in vain.

Network diagram

An up-to-date topology with addressing and segments. Often the first such document the company has had.

Backups

Whether they exist, what they cover, where they are kept and whether a restore was ever tested.

Access

Accounts, administrator rights, accounts of people who have left and where passwords are stored.

Risks and plan

What could stop the company tomorrow, with the cost of fixing it.

How the work runs

Five business days for a company of up to a hundred workstations. The work does not disturb your staff.

01

Data collection

Automatic collection across the network plus an inspection of the server room and interviews with the administrators.

02

Checks

We try restoring from a backup, look at what is exposed to the internet and check the updates.

03

Analysis

We compare what we found against what should be there and assess the consequence of every gap.

04

Report

An infrastructure dossier and an action plan with priorities and costs.

The infrastructure dossier stays yours whether or not we continue working together. That matters: a document you can hand to any contractor removes your dependence on whoever wrote it.

Frequently asked questions

Usually one person knows it, and not all of it. An assessment almost always finds a forgotten opening to the internet, accounts of people who have left, a server nobody has updated for two years and backups that have never been test-restored. This is not a criticism; it is the same everywhere.

No. Data collection runs in the background and inspecting the server room takes a couple of hours. The only thing agreed separately is a test restore from a backup, which we run on a test environment.

No. The report is specific enough for any contractor or your own administrator to work from. We quote the cost of fixing things but do not press the point.

We will run an assessment

Five days and you have the full picture: what you have, what is risky and what to do first.
